A day at the nunnery

The nuns start their day at 6,30 a.m., followed by the singing of Lauds at 7,30, for the Prayer, which goes on until 9 in the morning and culminates with Terce. After breakfast the Sisters dedicate themselves with their labour, such as assistance to the sick, work at the vegetable garden and elaboration of their famous perfumed candles. Around 12,40 p.m. They start with Spiritual Lecture which is followed by praying of Sext. Then comes Lunch, rest, None and the Holy Rosary.


In the afternoon, the rehearsal for the Singing and Vespers at 18,15. The most important moment of the day is the Holy Mass which takes place at 19,00 hours and which extends its Eucharistic Thanksgiving with the latter Meditation (1/2 hour). Supper is at 20,30 hours and is prepared by the nuns themselves. After cleaning and tiding up comes Break time until the moment to culminate the day with Completes, at 22,00 hours. Then the Mayor Silence starts and the Sisters retreat to rest until the following day.


Every Thursday, the Sisters celebrate Holy Hour with exposure of the Holy Sacrament. They pray for the holiness of priests and of their brothers and collaborators of the Order of Malta.
Every First Friday of the month they have a Spiritual Retreat. Every month they receive "Permanent Formation" lead by a priest, who also administers the Sacrament of Confession to the community.
As part of their Hospitalier vocation, the Sisters administer a hospice dedicated to Spiritual Retreats, group meetings of parishioners or pilgrims.
